Many new moms struggle to find the time to take care of themselves. They devote every waking moment to the new addition to the family and have to catch some sleep when they can. This can often mean that when they are getting themselves ready, it feels like they have been thrown together, and they do not feel too good about the way they look. This can continue for many months, and even sometimes until the baby is a toddler.

There are things new moms can do to make looking and feeling good easier, which is important at a time that can be stressful. Here are some of them:

Quick Makeup

Unless you are attending a special event or going to a party, the very basics of makeup will make you feel more your normal self. Use some concealer to hide blemishes and traces of a lack of sleep, and a little blusher on your cheeks. On your eyes just use some mascara, and finish off with your favorite lipstick. No more than five minutes to do these things, but the effects on your moral can be amazing.

Easy Style Hair

Keep your hair as simple as possible with a style that is easy to maintain. Do not be afraid to tie it back in a ponytail or to use headbands to keep it tidy. They are both acceptable fashions these days and will make doing your hair much quicker.


Accessories can make you feel dressed up. Things like the tacori rings at, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings can all be the finishing touch that make you feel and look like a million dollars.

Belts and scarves are other brilliant accessories that do not cost much to buy, but can change the look of an outfit instantly.

Go -To Clothes

Especial in the first few months after your baby has been born, your body will be constantly changing as it adjusts back to normal. Clothes will fit you for a few weeks, and then be too big or small and make you feel.

You should go through your wardrobe each month and put the ones you can wear at the front so you see them straight away. Wait till your baby is having a nap, and then spend some time sorting through the clothes you can wear. Dresses always look good, and jeans and a few tops are ideal.

Avoid wearing clothes that you wore while you were pregnant, as these will have the effect of making you feel huge. If your tummy is still a bit large, cover it by tying a scarf around your waist to take the focus of it. If your tops are still a bit tight, try borrowing a shirt or two from husbands, partners, brothers and any other men you know. An oversize shirt with a pair of jeans and some accessories will make any new mom look trendy.

Being a new mom does not mean you cannot be fashionable as well. It just needs some planning so you can fit in what you need to do with the new lifestyle the baby has created for you.
